Here we present activities of our organization that includes community service and other related events

Anand Mela Participation

Anand Mela is an annual event organized by Hindu Temple and Cultural Center of Kansas City. The event aims to collect funds for the Hindu Temple to support the various activities of the temple. This is An event filled with entertainment, lot of varieties of food, cultural and social activities. Chandana Kannada Sangha participates in this event every year. The sangha provides a Dosa Stall where authentic Karnataka style dosas and other Karnataka specialty dishes are served to the people for an amount and the proceeds of this goes to the Temple. The dishes are home made and prepared by the volunteers of the sangha.

Kannada Camp

Youth Wing of Chandana Kannada Sangha held a Kannada Camp for children aged 7 and above on August 4, 2007 . This program was a great success because of the eager and enthusiastic participation. 20 children participated in this program. The camp had two sessions. One focused on talking Kannada and second session focused on reading and writing Kannada. Both sessions were done very successfully. In addition to teaching Kannada, Kannada camp also included learning Yoga, Kannada songs and Rangoli. A delicious lunch was served. Chandana Kannada Sangha thanks all the volunteers because of whom this whole program was a great success.

Volunteering at Harvesters

Harvesters is the largest food bank of Kansas City. Chandana Kannada Sangha in leadership of Youth Wing of Chandana Sangha went to Harvesters to do volunteering on August 11, 2007. Twenty one participants were there helping out sorting the food cans and non perishable food items. This was a great team work experience for the youth group. Thanks to many adult members of Chandana Kannada Sangha also for participating with youth members. It was a hard and tiring work, but the team did a great job working together and sorting things very quickly. This was a very memorable experience for all youth members.
