Volunteering at Harvesters Event Date: Saturday, May 22, 2010 Event Report by Navya Prabhushankar The CKS youth group as well as some parents volunteered at Harvesters on Saturday, May 22. We arrived at Harvesters with 13 kids and 15 parents, totaling 28 volunteers! Our job was to package apples into bags. We opened a bushel, took a bag, filled it with apples, tied a knot, and tossed the bunch into a cardboard box. Altogether we packed about 120 bushels in 800 bags. During our work, we came across apples of different size, shape, and color! As our two hours were up, the staff thanked us for our help, and we felt accomplished. Everyone had a wonderful experience!
